The main focus of the redesign was to cater to multiple ordering requests of the users.

The redesigned Swiggy app intends to ease navigation within the app. Quick action taps for seasoned users, while intuitive previews for novice users, to facilitate multiple ordering. Order preview for added items ensuring an error free check out.

Multiple Orders

I asked 50 people their ordering pattern during group 

meet-ups with friends.This is how the ordering unveils!

Scenario 1 : Food ordering for multiple people craving different kind of Food.

Rashmi, we should start ordering food. Everyone will be getting hungry.
Just order some chinese please.
It's Thursday. I cannot eat Non-veg I'll order my salad from Salad days.
Also Rahul was saying that he is craving butter chicken. So please also  order that for him.
What's taking you guys so long. Come fast. you are missing the best story!
This will take a while.
Ok so you order your salad and butter chicken. I'll order rest of the food for everyone.

Scenario  2 : Food ordering for individuals who are trying to order multiple food items. 

I really wanna have theobrama's cupcake too!
hmmm....I'll just order the burgers using swiggy and the cupcake using Zomato.
It's almost lunch time. I think i want to have a burger

The Redesigning begins

1. Homepage

The Homapage has a dedicated

row for restaurants presenting offers and swiggy promoted restaurants.

It is a fixed asset of the screen, this gave me a chance to clean out rest of the page and not have promotional ads disturb the listing of restaurants.

The recommended food items of the restaurant pop-up on scrolling to engage a larger space. It's double tap option for addition of that item to cart makes it easier for the user to make a quick selection.

The favourite buttons helps users save their go to restaurants and facilitates multiple selection of food items from them.

2. Quick Menu

The drag gestures for the Quick Menu enables user to have a preview of the items available at the restaurants.

This helps the user in making decision of selecting multiple items faster.

Many restaurants do not offer all the items as suggested by it cusine. This quick menu on the homepage gives a clearer pictures to the users for selecting a restaurant.

2. Bag Items

The bag items pop up helps users have a quick look at the items perviously selected by them.

It helps them decide on the items that need to be added or deleted from the bag.

This accessible pop up tab helps facilitate multiple items selection from different restaurants to the user.
